Agility Training

Agility is a fun sport focused on the connection between the dog and handler. If you’ve never done agility before, want to get started, or have a young dog in need of foundational training, you’re in the right place! Things we will learn in this class include:

  • Toy and food skills to build strong rewards and understanding around when/how the dog will receive them

  • Engagement around distractions/other dogs

  • Pre-ring skills: ringside manners, engagement, waiting your turn, put on your leash, end of run routines

  • Body awareness skills

  • Flatwork handling: teaching dogs to respond to handler physical cues

  • Listening skills: discriminations

Group classes are 6 weeks long and 1 hr each week, using positive training, and I accept dogs 4 months of age and up.

Note: If your dog is reactive (lunges, barks, or growls at other dogs or humans) you can book private lessons. Every dog deserves fun!

About me

I currently compete in ISC agility (AKC’s International Sweepstakes Class) with my 4 year old border collie, Crunch. I love agility because I love the speed, excitement, and intense connection you feel with your dog. There is no other dog sport like it. Agility immensely improved my relationship with Crunch (it is how I survived his adolescent stage, after all!) Now I hope to teach others this amazing sport so they can also have fun with their dog and achieve amazing things!

Let’s play!
